Get to know me
The SparkNotes
I’m a creative travel copywriter with a knack for storytelling and a love for editing (I’m a grammar gal, what can I say).
The Full Story
I earned a B.S. in Writing, Rhetoric and Technical Communication from James Madison University (Go Dukes!). During my time there, I studied abroad in Ireland and volunteered with nonprofits, planting the seed that would grow into my future career path.
I began my marketing career at a nonprofit that provided foster care and adoptive services, as well as services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I wore many hats, as one does in the nonprofit world, from event planner to marketing specialist, to copywriter and editor-in-chief.
In 2019, I traveled abroad and spent time as a marketing volunteer at Earth Heir, an NGO in Malaysia that specializes in handcrafted heritage gifts. After my travels, I took a full-time position in the travel industry as a Content Specialist for a B2B travel agency.
When COVID-19 rocked the travel industry, I experienced the devastating wave of furloughs and layoffs firsthand. I turned to freelance copywriting during my subsequent unemployment, loving the freedom and creative expression it allowed me, and haven’t looked back.
When not writing, I am usually curled up with a library book, hanging out with my cats, exploring the PNW, or expanding my vintage clothing collection.
